really, again?

This week was an absolute riot because Carson's buddy from Minnesota decided to grace us with his presence. He's currently on an adventure in Singapore for his semester abroad and thought, "Hey, why not crash with the coolest kids in Bondi for Spring Break?" Of course, we couldn't resist showing him the ropes of our beloved city, taking him on our epic coastal walks, and hitting up the best bars in the hood. In a classic "you scratch my back, I scratch yours" move, Hadley, our Minnesotan mate, promised to return the favor by giving us the grand tour of his homeland. So, bright and early Friday morning, we jetted off to Singapore with big dreams of exploring every nook and cranny of the city and, most importantly, catching our favorite singer's live concert. (Hence the title of this entry: really, again? Which is what my parents said when I told them I was going to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, AGAIN.)

Saturday we stepped into foodie paradise in Chinatown. We wandered through those bustling Hawker Centers, stuffing ourselves silly with shrimp dumplings, veggie bao buns, and some funky gummy mochi. And just when we thought we couldn't eat another bite, Hadley drops the bombshell: "Hey, want to hit up a Michelin Star Restaurant?" Now, I was picturing a wallet-draining affair with microscopic servings, but Hadley enlightened us that in Singapore, these Michelin joints are hidden gems serving up gourmet delights for a few bucks. So obviously, we couldn't resist another round of dumplings!

And let's not forget our culinary escapade in Little India, where we indulged in some seriously delicious veggie samosas and got a few crazy stares in our neon workout sets… But! As if we hadn't already eaten our weight in food, we capped off the day with a mind-blowing dinner at Neon Pigeon, serving up insane Asian Fusion cuisine. Unfortunately, one thing had to go a bit sideways, so, Leah ended the night with a touch of food poisoning, she doesn’t know where from, and she’s not asking any further questions…

Then came Sunday, the holy grail of our trip: TAYLOR SWIFT DAY! We spent hours getting dolled up, belting out Taylor's hits, and crafting friendship bracelets like it was our 9-5. After a quick pit stop at Haji Lane for lunch amidst temples and stunning eateries, we were off to witness the best show in town. Sabrina Carpenter kicked things off with a bang, but the main event was, of course, Tay Tay herself! We screamed, we danced, we cried – it was an emotional rollercoaster. And what better way to cap off such an unforgettable night than with mountains of French fries.

Monday rolled around, and we kicked things off with some killer coffee at Bacha Coffee (seriously, it was like sipping liquid gold). Then, we embarked on a walkthrough of the Singapore Changi Airport, complete with robots, a rooftop pool, a butterfly garden, the tallest indoor waterfall,  a rock climbing wall, and a movie theater. Our flight home was a breeze, clocking in at a cool 7 and a half hours. Singapore, you stole our hearts and left us hungry for more. For my first trip into Asia, I'm already counting down the days until I can come back for round two!
